The name "Sailor Jerry" is a tribute to the father of so-called old-school tattoo art in America, Norman Collins. The artist became famous when he tattooed US soldiers in Hawaii. When he died in 1973, a recipe for a rum was found in his estate, which is now used to make Sailor Jerry Spiced. This is a Caribbean molasses distillate that is refined with the natural flavours of vanilla, caramel, a little cinnamon and almond and then aged.
